Common Questions
Restaurant letter board FAQ
How often can I change the letters without wearing out the felt?
Our premium felt is designed for daily changes. Many of our restaurant clients update their boards multiple times per day for years without any felt degradation. The grooves are precision-cut to hold letters firmly while still allowing easy swaps.
Are the letters food-safe if they fall near food prep areas?
Our letters are made from food-grade ABS plastic, the same material used in commercial kitchen equipment. They're non-toxic, easy to clean with standard sanitizer, and won't contaminate food if accidental contact occurs.
What size letters should I get for my restaurant?
For menu boards viewed from 10-15 feet (typical counter service), 1-inch letters work well for details and 2-inch for headers. For boards viewed from 20+ feet (entrance displays), we recommend 2-inch minimum. Every board includes both sizes free.
Can the board handle kitchen humidity and temperature changes?
Yes. Our aluminum frames won't warp in humid environments, and our felt is moisture-resistant. We've had boards in commercial kitchens for 5+ years without issues. For extremely humid environments, we recommend the aluminum frame over oak.
How do I mount a heavy menu board safely?
We include commercial-grade mounting hardware rated for 3x the board's weight. For boards over 40 inches, we recommend mounting into studs or using appropriate wall anchors. Installation typically takes 15-20 minutes.
